APS Bomet FC can officially book their place in the top-tier roster for the first time in history after securing second place in the National Super League.
Their promotion to the Premier League was confirmed officially on Friday, 13th June after they were awarded 3 points and a 2-0 win over their aborted match against Kibera Black Stars on 1st June at the Jamhuri Sports Grounds.
APS are guaranteed 2nd position in the NSL log with 64 points from 33 matches, four behind first place Nairobi United.
The FKF League Competitions Committee, in its ruling, awarded APS a win and found Kibera guilty of stopping the match abruptly in the 79th minute when the Bomet side had scored a leading goal.
The Leagues & Competitions Committee, in its meeting held at the FKF Goal Project Kasarani on 13th June 2025, made several findings; topmost that the match was halted in the 79th minute following a ‘disputed’ goal that was scored by APS Bomet FC.
The Committee also accused Kibera Black Stars FC fans and officials of disorder, stating that in protest of the decision to award the goal, they accosted and attacked the Assistant Referee, Eunice Njeri.
They also claimed that during the entire incident that lasted for more than 30 minutes, there was no presence of police officers, highlighting the inadequate security measures put in place by the home side.
